Dear colleagues, scientists and friends!
The Department of Abdominal Surgery of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana in collaboration with the Slovenian Surgical Club and WEB E-AHPBA chapter is organizing a scientific meeting on HPB EMERGENCIES.
Therefore, it is our great pleasure to invite you, on behalf of our Organizing Committee, to the 3rd Ljubljana HPB Symposium, which will be organized in the beautiful city of Ljubljana, Slovenia, on April 5 and 6, 2024 in Hotel Slon.
HPB surgery has dramatically changed over the past decades. Parallel to the latter, interdisciplinary management of HPB diseases is becoming increasingly significant. Interdisciplinary approach in treatment of acute HPB diseases and complications that occur during treatment, new diagnostic and interventional techniques and improved knowledge on supportive measures during treatment, are only few interesting topics of this symposium.
This event will offer opportunities to share new knowledge, listen to the lectures of distinguished faculty members, meet new friends and reconnect with the old ones. There is little doubt that our community is growing, because not only surgeons but also colleagues of different specialties are joining us in pursuit of better care for our patients.
One of the topics will also be how to improve structured learning of HPB surgery in WEB E-AHPBA region. Seven years have passed since we have established the WEB chapter of E-AHPBA and it is a decision of presidency of the chapter that this is the field where we must move forward and establish a new, more profound cooperation within and outside of the region.
During the meeting, annual general assembly of the WEB E-AHPBA chapter will be organized so all of members are encouraged to participate. We will be only as strong as our memberships and so we encourage all of you who are not yet members to take this opportunity to become a combined member of the E-AHPBA and the IHPBA.
It is also of great importance to inform you that a day before the symposium, on April 4, 2024, a Hands-On Multiorgan Retrieval Masterclass will be organized for all interested parties.
This meeting will also offer an opportunity for young doctors and emerging researchers to showcase their work. Thus, we also welcome all younger colleagues who will represent the future of our association and HPB medicine in this region. We look forward to the presentations of your work and meeting you at our planned social event.
We look forward to seeing all of you in Ljubljana and we promise that it will be a memorable event for all the participants.
